Tucked away in the
Appenine Hills in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, our newly built Bed
and Breakfast overlooks the Reno River Valley and the magnificent Rocca
Mattei Castle. Not far from the southern border of Emilia Romagna and
northern border of Toscana, we are centrally located between Bologna and
Florence. Just down the hill is the train station in the town of Riola di
Vergato. A leisurely 50 minute train ride puts you in the heart of
Bologna, with her historical center, covered portici, museums and world
famous Bolognese cuisine. With a one and a half hour freeway drive, you
are in the Renaissance jewel of Florence or the tiny Republic of San
Marino. Ravenna and the Adriatic beaches are an easy drive. Because
Bologna is a major rail hub, Venice and the rest of Italy awaits you with
a convenient train ride from the central station.
Each bedroom has its own private modern bath. An ample breakfast is included. We are the owners and are American and Italian: one of us born and raised in Bologna. English and Italian are spoken. With education backgrounds and knowledge of Bologna and the region, we are happy to help with sightseeing and meal suggestions. For a fee, and if arranged in advance, we can organize an escorted tour for you through this outstanding and little known region of Bella Italia. |
